RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC -- Philip Freelon, founder and president of The Freelon Group Architects, received the Service Award from the Association of African American Museums (AAAM) at that organization's 2004 annual meeting.
The Freelon Group has been a member of AAAM since 1999 and has been a sponsor of the organization's spring meeting for the past four years.
"On behalf of the firm, I was honored to accept this recognition from the AAAM. We've enjoyed our strategic alliance with this organization and look forward to our continuing relationship," said Philip Freelon.
The Association of African American Museums is a non-profit membership organization serving the interests and needs of African American museums, cultural institutions and museum professionals throughout the nation.
The Freelon Group is a 54-person architectural firm founded by Philip G. Freelon, FAIA (Fellow, American Institute of Architects) in 1990. The firm provides services nation wide with offices in the Research Triangle Park and Charlotte, North Carolina.
