Tim Winstead, Principal and Director of Science and Technology for The Freelon Group Architects, participated in the 2005 Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL) National Colloquium to address the issues of renovations to accommodate new teaching pedagogies in science facilities. The theme of the colloquium was Translating How People Learn Into a Roadmap for Institutional Transformation. The event was held in Kansas City, Missouri this fall.

Program participants explored the implications of what is known about "how people learn" for making decisions in all areas of institutional policies and practices, including those that affect the quality and character of the curriculum, of the faculty and of the facilities.

Mr. Winstead is an active member of Project Kaleidoscope, one of the leading advocates in this country for building and sustaining strong undergraduate programs in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
