Freelon Receives AIA Triangle Honor Award

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC –– The Freelon Group Architects has received an AIA (American Institute of Architects) Triangle 2007 Honor Award in the Unbuilt Category for its work on the Afro-American Cultural Center in Charlotte, NC. The award was presented at the AIA Triangle Chapter's annual awards reception at the Nasher Museum in Durham, NC on April 10, 2007.
Ten awards were presented during the reception. A total of 66 entries were submitted from AIA members throughout the Triangle area of North Carolina.
The Freelon Group is a 50-person, award-winning architectural firm founded by Philip G. Freelon, FAIA (Fellow, American Institute of Architects) in 1990. The firm’s design portfolio centers on Higher Education, Science/Technology and Museum and Cultural Center projects.
