Freelon receives National Interior Design Award from ALA / IIDA for Durham County Regional Library: North Branch

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC –– The Freelon Group received an honorable mention award for the Durham County Regional Library, North Branch from the American Library Association (ALA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
Nine winners and two honorable mentions were selected from projects submitted by firms across the North America. The awards recognize excellence in library interior design, incorporating aesthetics, design creativity, function and satisfaction of the client's objectives.
The awards will be presented and the “Best of Show” will be revealed at the ALA/IDDA Library Interior Design Awards reception on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, during the national ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA.
The Freelon Group is a 60-person, award-winning architectural firm founded by Philip G. Freelon, FAIA (Fellow, American Institute of Architects) in 1990. The firm’s design portfolio centers on Museum and Cultural Center, Higher Education, and Science/Technology projects.
