Rockett, Burkhead, & Winslow is an advertising agency of approximately 80 employees, with offices located in the Forum I building in north Raleigh. The agency was originally scattered throughout seven floors in a haphazard collection of isolated, small, and poorly lit spaces. In order to foster interaction, collaboration, and a higher level of communication between employees, we consolidated their offices onto the sixth and seventh floors, in spaces that open up to each other and allow daylight to filter deep into the space. The two floors are connected by an internal open stair that literally and figuratively bridges the gap between the creative and account management departments of the agency. The project was completed in two phases, allowing the agency to continue working throughout the entire construction process.
