Yale University is planning the construction of a new research facility for the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. The Science Hill Plan, a plan for the development of Science Hill published in June 2000, had established the basic parameters for the size and location of the new building. To initiate the planning process, Yale University has requested that The Freelon Group develop a Component Program and Concept Design Study to further define the scope of the project. This typically includes an order of magnitude departmental space program assessment defining the programmatic components to be included in the new building, and conceptual site studies allowing for the scope and location of the facility to be generally established prior to the selection of the Architect.
