LOCATION: New Haven, CT
PROJECT SIZE: 1,200,000 SQ FT
PROJECT COST: $0
The Science Hill Sector of Yale University contains approximately 1.2 million Sq. Ft. of space associated with the Departments of Astronomy, Chemistry, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Geology, Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology, Physics and the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. A master plan was created to build new buildings and sequentially renovate existing buildings over a twenty year period while allowing continued research and teaching operations for all departments. The project included assessment of the existing facilities, order of magnitude programming for all departments, and the master plan complete with implementation strategies and financial projections.
Beyond the master plan, each individual project has been defined through component programming and concept design studies. Upon completion of the master plan, we developed component program and concept designs for each of the major projects proposed by the plan. To date, that has included the new chemistry research building, the forestry building, the biology (MCDB) research building and the undergraduate science teaching center.
Projects highlighted include excerpts or images from:
