This project is Phase I of a four-building master plan for new office buildings on the Lord Corporation’s campus located in McGregor Park in the Town of Cary. This building will be a 49,500 square foot office building to accommodate a variety of departments. As such, the project is intended to be a very flexible high performance workspace with special attention to the environment, sustainability and energy conservation.
The project is seeking LEED certification. Environmental goals include minimizing land disturbance, preserving the natural vegetation, limiting utility and infrastructure requirements, and anticipating future change via highly flexible workplace solutions for furniture and utility distribution. Under floor air distribution not only lowers energy consumption, but it delivers higher quality air via a floor plenum which can easily be re-configured to adapt to change and churn. Simpler re-configurations result in less employee disturbance, less down time and lower costs.
